Sierra Nevada has featured on here previously, so for some background on the brewery please check out the review on Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.

I really, really enjoyed the Pale Ale so was very intrigued by this Dankful IPA offering. The official description from their website is "A better tomorrow is why we brew Dankful, a resinous West Coast IPA that supports nonprofits standing up for social equality, economic well-being, and environmental protection. Through this philanthropic pledge, we work with nonprofit partners dedicated to moving our communities forward. We’re Dankful for that".

Through Dankful they have managed to commit more than $1 million in donations supporting nonprofit organizations, such as World Central Kitchen, who provided more than 25 million meals for families facing food scarcity during the COVID-19 crisis. This is a truly wonderful initiative by the brewery, and something that will ensure I continue supporting them by enjoying more of these amazing beers. A win win situation for all!

Back to the beer..

For me, it poured a darkish orange colour with a lasting off-white head. The smell is of citrus, pine, malt and some grassy notes also. The taste has some grapefruit, pine and citrus, all classic IPA tastes. The finish has some proper hoppiness which lingers in the aftertaste. You do get some faint alcohol also showing up in the finish, which can be expected by the generous 7.4%.

It is a smooth, great tasting beer full of the right flavours and it is generously hoppy indeed!

An amazing beer with an amazing cause behind it, well worth supporting!
