A bit about the beer

Ingredients - Water, Wheat Malt, Barley Malt, Hop Extract, Yeast

As per the website for Schöfferhofer, the commercial description is that it is "the world’s first Hefeweizen grapefruit beer. It’s a 50/50 blend of Schöfferhofer Hefeweizen beer and natural carbonated grapefruit flavor for a zesty and fizzy taste experience.Crisp and refreshing, Schöfferhofer Grapefruit can be enjoyed all year round, any time of day."

For me, poured from a bottle it has an orange colour with no head. On the nose you get grapefruit (surprise!) and very faint notes of wheat. Tastes like sweetened grapefruit juice, with very very distant notes of wheat and aftertaste has no bitterness, so basically like having a soft drink, especially taking into account the very low alcohol percentage.

To be honest, I didn't enjoy this very much. If you are into breezers or ciders, then maybe this will appeal to you, but if you enjoy proper wheat beer then this will probably miss the mark as it did for me.
