A bit about the beer

The commercial description for the Milk Chai Stout is "a smooth, rich milk stout brewed with a custom blend of chai spices and the perfect complement of dark, roasted malts. Drink this beer fresh".

For me, poured from a 330ml bottle with some very nice label artwork, it is black in colour with a decent tan head which dissolves quickly. Aromas of chocolate, dried fruit and roasted malts can be picked up but the main aroma is for sure the chai spices, which makes this such a unique beer. On the taste, again the main element is the chai spices, followed by hints of chocolate, spice and milk creaminess. The 7.8% alcohol is very well hidden amongst the spices so you don't taste it at all. On the finish, the chai is still there, together with some nice bitterness of the roasted malts which lingers.

Overall it is quite a different take on a milk stout and as long as you enjoy stouts and chai you will love this beer. Very smooth and refreshing!
