A bit about the beer
Ingredients – Water, Malt - Pale, Munich & Red Back, Hops - Crystal, El Dorado, Chinook, Cascade, Simcoe, Amarillo and Mosaic.
The story of Little Creatures Brewery, started with a group of friends who wanted to brew an awesome, hop-driven American Pale Ale with very distinct flavours and aromas. Built on a former crocodile farm in Fremantle, a huge shed became the home of this beer and the birthplace of Little Creatures Brewing, opening in late 2000.
The main focus of the brewery was, and still is, on Pale Ale, which takes nearly six weeks to brew, ferment, bottle and condition.
By 2005 Pale Ale was more well known and as the craft beer movement took proper shape they had to expand and opened a new brewhouse in Fitzroy, making beer and good memories until early 2016 when they decided to focus on a new brewery in Geelong.
Key flavours of IPA, as per their official site include Rugged Hop, Earthy Hops, Sweet malty, bitterness.
This IPA takes a variety of malts and imported US hops (including Crystal, El Dorado, Chinook, Cascade, Simcoe, Amarillo and Mosaic) to give us a beer full of character, packed with hops and spice and citrus flavours and a very distinctive bitterness.
It pours an amber color with a medium white head. When drinking, you get distinctive aromas of fruitiness, citrus and caramel malts followed by a well balanced bitterness in the aftertaste.
This is a hoppy and refreshing beer, a very good and enjoyable IPA!
