A bit about the beer

Ingredients – Water, Sabro, Simcoe, Mosaic and Galaxy hops

In a previous review on Nine Tales Amber Ale from James Squire you can find some information on the history of James Squire and the brewery. Check it out here.

This 10th edition of Hop Thief features unique new breed of Sabro hops, sourced from the mountains of New Mexico. These Sabro hops add the unique flavours of tangerine, cream and cedar. According to the official description from the brewery, "along with Sabro we have used Hop Thief favourites of Simcoe, Mosaic and Galaxy to provide a vibrant burst of tropical hop flavour".

For me, poured from a can, it has a clear golden colour with aromas of tangerine and malt. Taste is hoppy, very hoppy. The tangerine comes through very nicely and as per the official description, the mosaic and galaxy hops makes it burst with tropical hop flavours. The bitter aftertaste of the hops lingers long afterwards. This is a really tasty beer, a little bit creamy, very hoppy and full of character - a strong tasting hoppy beer!
