A bit about the beer
Ingredients - Water, Barley, Hops
The skeleton coast is the treacherous coastline that contours South West Africa. Feared by seafarers these ‘Gates of Hell’ were a rite of passage for those ships bound for India via Cape Town, many of which sailed with precious IPA – beer brewed with extra hops & malt to withstand the epic journey.
Skeleton Coast IPA is a beer full of malt flavour and abundant hop character. This IPA from Jack Black will probably not appeal to everyone’s taste buds so if you enjoy a light beer then this is definitely not for you, but if you do enjoy a beer with character and an abundance of body and malty flavour then get your hands on one, or six!
Colour is a nice deep amber-orange and has a nice, foamy, bright-white head. The smell is a vey good balance between caramel and citrus. For taste there is a little sweet malt and caramel throughout with pine, and a nice hoppy, bitter finish.
Overall this is a great offering in a country where the whole craft beer industry is starting to become very popular!
