A bit about the beer

Ingredients - Seems to be a bit of a secret as I cannot find any details on the ingredients. I am going to take a guess that it contains Water, Barley, Hops and Yeast

Started in 2007, when the words "craft beer" were foreign to most people in South Africa, Ross and meg McCulloch set out to make a significant change in the beer landscape in South Africa. I believe every South African beer lover would agree they have succeeded in their quest as today Jack Black's is regarded as one of Africa's most well-known and loved craft beers. With a great variety of beers filled with character and inspiration from the country of their origin Jack Black delivers classic beers again and again.

The official description of the Cape Pale Ale from their website says "Brewed in the heart of the Mother City, with fresh mountain bursts of flavour & aromas. Inspired by Cape Towns unique, free living lifestyle & passion for being outside. TASTING NOTES: Clean. Classic. Well Rounded & Generously Dry-Hopped".

Poured from a bottle it has a golden colour with a fuzzy white head that disappears quickly. Grassy, hoppy and sweet malt aromas are very present followed by tastes of citrus fruits, malts and hoppy bitterness. It is full of character and extremely flavourful and a very refreshing beer to drink. The lower alcohol percentage makes it even easier to go down and to enjoy a couple at a time.

This is one of the better beers I have had in quite some time!

There will be a couple more beers from Jack Black’s featured in the next couple of weeks so keep your eyes opened for those.
