A bit about the beer

Ingredients - Water, yeast, hops (again, not much in terms of specifics available)

As per the company's website, each of their beers have a story which comes from an authentic place of curiosity, wonder and desire. They are driven by their environment, which can be seen vividly in the names and inspirations behind their beers. Being a Cape Town based company, the Atlantic ocean is home, their sense of place and their sense of adventure.

Inspired by the deep blue Atlantic Ocean, the official description is that the Atlantic Weiss "has a thick and creamy head – and due to its unfiltered nature, you’ll find some seriously rich, soft fruit aromas. It’s medium bodied and extremely refreshing. At 4.7% ABV, it’s the perfect companion for just about any occasion".

Poured from a bottle, this unfiltered Weiss has a slightly hazy orange colour with a fluffy white head. Aromas of banana and yeasty wheat comes through followed by taste of very slight citrus fruit, bready, coriander and light sweetness. Not the best Weiss I have had, but a pretty decent one which is best enjoyed as cold as the Atlantic itself.

Jack Black's Brewing Company made a very nice promotional video for their award winning Atlantic Weiss, which will serve as a bit of additional inspiration to get your hands on a couple.
