A bit about the beer
During my travels to Italy this one was sampled multiple times. It is almost as if it actually tasted better when having it at a corner caffe in Milan or while watching the gondolas filled with tourists floating past on the canals of Venice. While in Italy I only had two varieties of beer, the L'Autentica from Birra Moretti and the more popular Peroni Nastro Azzurro. My preference - by some distance - the L'Autentica!
This is a very decent international lager, one of the better commercial beers. It consists of water, malted barley, maize and hops. It is actually not too watery like many other popular lagers around but it does lack hoppiness in the taste unfortunately.
The L’Autentica has a clear, pale gold colored body and a crisp refreshing taste. It goes down quite well at home when having a bbq, but not as well as when having it in its place of origin - Italy!
Overall not a bad beer at all, and a good one to have when having more than one!
